The Tesla Cybertruck is still nowhere to be found, but that hasn’t stopped the company from cranking out some new merchandise. The latest is CyberBeer and it’s virtually impossible to escape if you’ve logged onto X today.

Putting that aside, the CyberBeer + CyberStein Limited Edition Set costs a whopping $150. However, this isn’t your run-of-the-mill beer as it pays tribute to the “angular exoskeleton” of the Cybertruck and comes in a bottle that features a distinctive gloss black sleeve.

The kit includes two 11.2 ounce (330 ml) beers that are 7% alcohol by volume (ABV) and brewed by Buzzrock Brewing. Tesla describes them as a “Helles Lager with European Noble Hops Saaz and Hallertau Mittlefruh.” The automaker goes onto say the beers are “accentuated by notes of herb and spice and more notable aromas of tea and citrus.”

Since drinking out of the bottle is passé, the kit includes two matte black ceramic beer steins that were “glazed and fired to mirror the form of [the] Cybertruck and finished with a gloss interior and signature Tesla logo.” While they look like edgy pitchers, they’ll likely become a collectors item.

Tesla is currently accepting orders and it appears the kits are limited to people who live in the United States and are at least 21 years old. Orders are slated to ship later this month, although the $150 price tag doesn’t include tax or a $15 shipping charge. As a result, those two beers and mugs will set you back $176.63 overall.

Police in North Carolina nabbed a quartet of teens who initiated a high-speed chase in a stolen car and got caught. According to the suspects, they ran from authorities so that they could post about it on TikTok. Officers used stop sticks to end the chase and then found two guns including a stolen one.

All four juveniles ended up in custody after a nine-minute police chase in Monroe, NC. Initially, officers tried to pull the car over on Concord Highway but the driver decided to run. Over the course of the chase, the kids ended up at speeds of 115 mph (185 km/h), police say.

When they didn’t pull over, police put out a spike strip and disabled the vehicle. That vehicle just happened to be a Hyundai. Authorities didn’t say if it was one of the ones involved in the now infamous TikTok Boys Kia/Hyundai theft phenomenon. Regardless of how the teens obtained the vehicle, it clearly wasn’t theirs to begin with.

Once police stopped the car the teens, aged 14 to 17, admitted that they were “making a TikTok video” according to local news outlet WSOC. Evidently, these kids didn’t realize just how serious the crime was and for whatever reason weren’t in school despite the fact that the chase happened around noon on a Monday.

During the search of the vehicle, police found two different handguns including one that was stolen. “It’s sad, it’s very sad. It put a lot of people in a lot of danger. For these kids to be out – and they referred to TikTok – they were thinking this was some kind of TikTok fun. They thought it was a joke,” said Monroe Lt. Morgan Malone.

Being juveniles, the police didn’t release any of their personal details. Nevertheless, they’ll face criminal charges through the Department of Juvenile Justice in North Carolina.

A 34-year-old man from Shelburne, Vermont will be spending the next four years behind bars after admitting to taking delivery of five new Tesla vehicles without paying them as part of a simple order loophole he discovered.

In September 2018, Michael Gonzalez placed an order for a Tesla Model 3 costing $58,000 through the company’s website. He provided a $2,500 deposit and was notified the following month that the car was ready for delivery. He then provided Tesla with bank account information and took delivery of the car. Tesla also gave him a certificate of ownership.

The only issue is that Gonzalez knew the bank account information he had provided Tesla was for an account without the necessary funds to pay for the car. Tesla followed up the following week notifying him that the transaction couldn’t be completed. Gonzalez ignored Tesla and soon sold the Model 3 to a used car dealer for $42,000.

Prosecutors revealed that Gonzalez repeated these steps four additional times, each time for a high-end Model X. In some cases, he would enter the name of a girlfriend or ex-girlfriend as the buyer, provide Tesla with account details with insufficient funds, and then take delivery of the vehicle. Market Watch reports he sold one Model X on Craigslist for $108,000 and one on eBay for $97,000.

The 34-year-old’s scheme reached a crescendo later in 2019 when he took delivery of a Model X without paying for it but was not provided with a certificate of ownership by Tesla. So, what did he do? Well, he decided to drive the car out onto the frozen Lake Champlain and set it on fire. He then filed an insurance claim for it but failed to appear for an interview when the insurer asked him to make an in-person visit.

In another case, a repo man was sent by Tesla to take back a Model X that had been delivered to Gonzalez. He fled and stored the EV in a storage unit.

The man was scheduled to face trial but in April, pled guilty to five counts of possessing and disposing of stolen vehicles. This week he was sentenced to four years in prison and ordered to pay back Tesla $493,000 and forfeit the $231,900 he made by selling three of the five cars.

A nearly-twenty minute police pursuit resulted in no arrests but a great deal of risk in Arkansas in late September. Dashcam video shows the entire interaction and the numerous times that the rider, police, and bystanders were at risk of serious harm. The incident calls into question the tactics used throughout the pursuit.

Right off the bat let’s be clear that criminals who flee from police aren’t the good guys. Many times it’s their actions that endanger the public and it’s that risk to public safety that has led some police to engage in dangerous tactics to stop chases as quickly as possible. Other departments go with a less direct approach.

It’s clear which side of the coin the Arkansas State Police fall on though. In the following video, we see Trooper Matthew Walker speed along residential streets in an effort to catch up to the suspected speeder. As he initially closes the gap the rider speeds off and Walker engages his lights and sirens as the pursuit begins.

As they close the gap around roundabouts it seems as though the motorcycle rider isn’t all that familiar with the bike. He sticks his foot out on the inside of the turn almost as though it’s a dirt bike and he’s trying to stay up. The concern of the officers for this member of the public is on clear display as we hear one say “Lay that bike down bitch.”

Lay the bike down he does not though and the pursuit continues onto the highway. There, Officer Walker speeds past a number of bystanders on both the left and right of the cruiser at 140 mph (225 km/h) and faster. At one point in a curve, it sounds like he says “Come on dude let me hit you,” to the rider just ahead of him.

After no less than 19 minutes of pursuing the suspect, the rider crashes the bike in the center median of the highway. The officers don’t notice the crash until they’ve passed the rider so they turn around and drive in the median to continue the chase. By the time they catch up, the rider is already across the opposing side of the highway and running into the woods.

Six minutes of searching on foot were all these troopers could stand it seems though as they give up and come back empty-handed. The question is whether or not all of that high-speed highway driving amongst innocent bystanders was worth the inherent risk posed to the public.

It’s worth noting that Arkansas State Police officers aren’t required to use their lights and sirens at all times. That’s true too of cases like this one where the officer in question speeds past traffic in a 35 mph (56 km/h) zone at 80 mph (129 km/h) without any warning signs. Whether or not that’s “safe” is above our pay grade.

If you need a car and don’t have one, there are countless options including friends, family, Lyft, and Uber. However, if you’re morally flexible, there are a few more alternatives.

20-year-old Kasia Shelton allegedly went the latter route as authorities say she stole a 2013 Kia Optima to drive to an interview about becoming a stripper.

Citing court documents, Fox 59 is reporting that Shelton went to RDI Motors on Monday to inquire about the aforementioned Kia. An employee told her to wait while they answered the phone, which had been ‘ringing off the hook.’

No one was on the other end of the call and the employee found Shelton as well as the car missing. Police were called and they reportedly used cameras to track the car as it traveled to Indianapolis and then back to Muncie.

Authorities weren’t able to immediately catch up to the Kia, but they connected Shelton to the crime as she allegedly entered her information on the dealership’s website. That’s a boneheaded move and police said Shelton eventually admitted to stealing the car after being confronted and allegedly lying about her identity.

This is where things take a crazy turn as the station wrote, “Shelton reportedly told police she stole the Kia in order to drive to Indianapolis for an exotic dancer job interview. She didn’t understand what the big deal was, however, since she ‘returned’ the vehicle later.”

“Returned” is being generous as Shelton reportedly abandoned the car at the Muncie Mall, which is located behind RDI Motors. However, the vehicle was discovered in Anderson, which is roughly 20 miles (32 km) away.

How this happened remains unclear, but Shelton said she left the keys in the car and saw it being driven by someone else on Snapchat. That seems pretty questionable and she’s now facing charges of auto theft and identity deception.

Woman Allegedly Steals Kia From Dealership To Drive To Stripper Interview

The owners of a dealership in South Windsor, Connecticut, woke up this morning to discover that a trio of high-end vehicles was stolen overnight. Police estimate that the $380,000 worth of vehicles were stolen in the dead of night.

In all, the dealership lost four vehicles: a 2022 Ram 1500 TRX, a 2022 Dodge Charger, a 2015 Porsche 911 GT3 RS and a 2022 GMC Terrain that was used to ram through the gate guarding the dealership’s lot and spare the high-performance vehicles.

The theft occurred at 1:10 a.m. on October 11, reports WFSB. The culprits managed to make their way into the lot, then forced their way into a dealership building by breaking a window, and drove away with the vehicles.

Shamar Mahon, the son of Mike and Tony Auto Sales & Service’s owner, said that the theft made him feel exasperated. In addition to the vehicles, the gate that was supposed to protect them was also expensive.

“It’s tough waking up in the middle of the night to see we’ve been violated,” said Mahon. “We’ve invested tens of thousands of dollars to make sure that this doesn’t happen again. You’ll put in the proper precautions. We installed that gate, but it seems like no matter what we do, we can’t escape from the grips of these criminals.”

Although the investigation into this theft is still active, police said that one of the vehicles’ tracking equipment suggested that it had made its way to New York City by 3:45 a.m. Unfortunately for Mike and Tony Auto Sales, this is neither the first time its vehicles have been stolen, nor the first time they have ended up in New York State.

Indeed, South Windsor’s town manager, Michael Maniscalco, claimed that automotive crime in the area has been rising in recent years. For now, the dealership has filed a police report, and anyone with any information relating to this theft is asked to reach out to South Windsor police.

Mercedes-Maybach has partnered with space tourism company Space Perspective to provide its expertise in crafting the interior of an upcoming space capsule.

Like SpaceX and Virgin Galactic, Space Perspective aims to offer rich individuals the opportunity to travel to the edge of space. Unlike those two, Space Perspective will use a pressurized capsule that is pulled 100,000 feet into the sky by a SpaceBalloon over a period of two hours. A ticket will start at $125,000 and the company wants to ensure its ‘Explorers’ can enjoy a luxurious and safe experience.

The company’s partnership with Mercedes-Maybach will first involve the car manufacturer’s all-electric vehicles being used to shuttle guests to and from Space Perspective facilities at the launch site on Florida’s Space Coast. Mercedes-Maybach is also in talks to provide further design and hospitality integrations with Space Perspective. During an interview with Motor Trend, Mercedes-Maybach head Danel Lescow said this will culminate in the interior design of the space capsule.

“We are exploring different elements of the journey and how we can make that most convenient and bring most of the Maybach experience to the voyage,” Lescow said. “Eventually that will accumulate into Maybach being involved in the interior design of the capsule.”

The capsule with feature a customizable cabin that can accommodate eight Explorers and a captain. It will include luxurious recliners and even a meal and cocktail service at 100,000 feet. Guests will sit at the edge of space for two hours before descending back to the ground over a two-hour period. The capsule will even offer Wi-Fi and a bathroom and include the largest windows ever flown to space.

“Pairing our all-electric Spaceship Neptune with the all-electric Mercedes-Maybach represents a sustainable and inspiration-filled future, not to mention a heightened overall experience for Space Perspective Explorers,” founder and co-chief executive of Space Perspective Kane Poynter said.

Crewed test flights are scheduled to begin next year with the first commercial flights expected to start at the end of 2024.

Five weeks ago, a video was shared to Instagram showing a white and blue Ford GT resting on a small brick wall after it crashed somewhere in the United States. Fast forward to October and that very same car has appeared up for auction on Copart.

The cause of the crash that left the GT with extensive damage remains unknown but there’s a good chance it simply involved a driver who couldn’t handle all of the power from the 5.4-liter supercharged V8. It appears to have slid up a curb, crossed a sidewalk, and then smashed into the wall, coming to a rest in a small flower bed.

The listing on Copart claims that the car had a pre-accident value of $418,483 and that it now has a salvage title in New York. While no one likes to see a salvaged Ford GT like this, there’s a good chance the car will be repairable but it just might cost a lot to bring it back to its former glory.

Most of the damage appears to be limited to the driver’s side door which has been caved in, likely after taking the brunt of the impact with the wall. The two wheels on the driver’s side also appear to have been damaged in the crash and we’re sure there are also some scrapes across the undercarriage. Given that most of the damage appears to be visual, there’s a good chance the engine still runs and that someone may decide to give it a second lease on life.

A second 2005 Ford GT is also available through Copart. This Hennessey-tuned model is located in Seaford, Delaware, and also has a salvage title after suffering significant damage to both sides and its rear end. Details about the crash it was involved in aren’t known but the fact that one of the wheels and hubs was ripped clean off suggests it was more severe than the one involving the white and blue model.

Size and weight differentials between different vehicles can be a recipe for disaster during accidents. Thankfully, this crash involving a semi-truck and a C7 Chevrolet Corvette sports car saw no serious injuries. That’s even more shocking given the photographs of the scene showing the truck fully lifted into the air as it rests atop the blue coupe.

Details about exactly what led to the accident are sparse. It happened on the morning of October 5th on the northbound side of I-49 in Desoto Parish, Louisiana just south of Shreveport. Images from the scene appear to show that the big rig drove over the driver’s side A-pillar of the Corvette before coming to rest fully on the hood and passenger compartment. The trailer itself overturned and spilled contents onto both the roadway and into the median.

A local motorist near the scene when the accident happened evidently stopped and stuck around to both document the situation and to help. They sent a comment and the photographs you see here to the Desoto Parish Sheriff’s Department.

“I was one of the 1st people to pull up to the accident on I49 this morning. I just wanted to compliment the 1st sheriffs deputy on the scene. I’m not sure what his name is [Cpl. Jimmie Minor] but his command and control of the scene was not only impressive but when it came to cleaning up the scene he jumped in there with the work crew and helped out! I took several pictures of him and would like to send them to you as well. I just wanted to compliment and say thank you to the Sheriff’s Office as well as the State Police for a job well done,” they said according to the department’s Facebook posting.

If the Corvette occupants did in fact escape without injury it demonstrates just how safe modern cars are. Somehow this isn’t the only recent example of that involving a Corvette. Late in September, another truck drove over a Corvette but the occupants emerged without injury. Late in August, the driver of a Corvette at a race track escaped injury despite experiencing two impacts both with over 5 Gs of force.

Some motorcycles are so fast that law enforcement officers won’t even chase them. Cruiser bikes like Harley-Davidsons aren’t typically so quick though and in the case of the fleeing suspect in the following video, it was far from fast enough to keep him out of jail. Instead, the pursuing Arkansas State Trooper tapped him just hard enough to cause a complete loss of contact with the ground.

This chase took place in the far southwest corner of Arkansas and then moved into Texas as the motorcycle rider tried everything they could to escape. According to the report in the video description, multiple calls led ASP Trooper Cullen Young to the bike in question. Other road users said the rider was “flipping people off, braking hard in front of people,” and “trying to get run over.”

The motorcyclist was traveling at 78 mph (125 km/h) in a 65 mph (105 km/h) construction zone when the Trooper first spotted him so a traffic stop was initiated. The rider, who police later found to be David Roark, pulled over. Then, as the trooper approached the motorcycle, Roark sped away. That tactic has certainly worked in the past with the Arkansas State Police but not here.

Despite other strategies employed by Roark like speeding above 100 mph (160 km/h) and driving the wrong way on the interstate, officers always retained sight of him. In fact, Roark went as far as to pass a semi-truck on the grass to escape but to no avail. Then, as he used exit 213 and began to turn right, Trooper Young bumped the back of the bike, specifically the saddle bag, and the chase came to a halt.

Of course, it only did so because the tap from the trooper led Roark to lose control of the bike and jump the curb. As he did, the bike somersaulted end over end, throwing Roark from the Harley and into the grass below. Officers found a handgun on him and said he admitted to taking drugs before the ride.

An ambulance took Roark to the hospital to attend to his injuries. They do not appear to be life-threatening.
